About Shane Terry: Shane Terry is a British Columbia-based singer-songwriter and guitarist whose music blends guitar-driven pop/rock with jazz, blues, and folk influences. Inspired by artists like Jeff Buckley, John Mayer, and Radiohead, Shane pairs reflective lyricism with memorable melodies, creating songs that feel both familiar and deeply personal.

Rooted in the singer-songwriter tradition, Shane weaves his perspective on life into music shaped by easy-listening jazz harmonies, expressive guitar work, and a touch of lyrical self-awareness. A graduate of the Vancouver Community College music program, he has become an emerging voice in Vancouver's music scene, performing at festivals including Khatsahlano Street Party and Ladner Barnside Harvest Festival.

For his Shelf session, Shane and his band bring those songs into an intimate room built for listening. Expect thoughtful songwriting, expressive guitar work, and an evening centered on melody, connection, and timeless songcraft.

About The Shelf Concert:

Inspired by NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert, we bring raw, stripped-down performances to Vancouver — but with our own after-hours twist. On Wednesday nights, Hestia closes its doors to the public and transforms into a private listening room for just 60 guests. No blasting speakers, no artificial mixing — just pure, direct sound. Artists self-mix in the moment, adjusting to the space and the energy of the room. And since each concert is recorded live, the audience isn’t just watching — they’re part of the final cut. Every cheer, clap, and moment of silence is captured by the microphones forever.

How It Works

• The concert is structured into three short sets (three songs each), with two 5-minute breaks in between.

• Natural emotional reactions (clapping, cheering, vibing, etc.) are encouraged!

• During performances, we ask for minimal disruptive noise — think of it like being in a live recording session. Because it is!

• Breaks are off the record — the perfect time to chat, enjoy the buffet, or grab another drink.

• Some artists may extend their set or play an encore if the vibe feels right — show your love and you might just get more!
