About the event

About Robyn Froese:

Robyn Froese is a Prairie Canadian folk artist now based in Vancouver, BC, bringing a quirky-yet-charming presence and wild vocals to songs centered around community, healing, and love.

Her music is grounded in a belief that creative expression can connect, heal, and transform communities. Robyn has toured across Canada, released four EPs and multiple singles, appeared on CBC Radio, completed artist residencies in Canada and France, and was named Folk Artist of the Year by the FVMAs.

For her Shelf session, Robyn is joined by an 11-musician rotating ensemble, with the three sets taking on different groupings, instrumentation, and vibes throughout the night. Each set offers a different arrangement of her music while keeping community and connection at the heart of the session.

Arrangement of the Session:

Robyn Froese — Vocals / Nylon Acoustic / Electric Guitar

Katrina McCarthy — Harmonies

Noah Collins — Mini Choir

Kardias Quing — Mini Choir

Andre Antonio — Keys

Gavin Harper — Electric Guitar / Pedal Steel

Ajay Erasmus — Electric Guitar

Nicholas Bossman — Double Bass

Mitchell Walford — Saxophone / Acoustic Guitar / Drums

Clark Moorman — Dulcimer / Drums

Mikayla Clay — Fiddle

*The lineup will rotate across the three sets, with different groupings and instrumentation throughout the session.

About The Shelf Concert:

Inspired by NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert, we bring raw, stripped-down performances to Vancouver — but with our own after-hours twist. On Wednesday nights, Hestia closes its doors to the public and transforms into a private listening room for just 60 guests. No blasting speakers, no artificial mixing — just pure, direct sound. Artists self-mix in the moment, adjusting to the space and the energy of the room. And since each concert is recorded live, the audience isn’t just watching — they’re part of the final cut. Every cheer, clap, and moment of silence is captured by the microphones forever.

Your ticket includes:

✔️ Exclusive access to the session — An intimate, after-hours concert in the closed restaurant space at Hestia.

✔️ A late-night buffet — Curated by HESTIA to make the night feel even more special.

✔️ A role in the recording – Your energy, your reactions, your moment.

How It Works

  • The concert is structured into three short sets (three songs each), with two 5-minute breaks in between.

  • Natural emotional reactions (clapping, cheering, vibing, etc.) are encouraged!

  • During performances, we ask for minimal disruptive noise — think of it like being in a live recording session. Because it is!

  • Breaks are off the record — the perfect time to chat, enjoy the buffet, or grab another drink.

  • Some artists may extend their set or play an encore if the vibe feels right — show your love and you might just get more!

Limited to 60 spots. Every session is unique and will not appear again.
