About the event

About Leizel:
Leizel, aka Tess Meckling, is a singer, songwriter, pianist and producer currently residing on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. Raised on classical piano, she found her voice through studying in both of Cap U’s renowned music programs, first classical and then jazz, all the while exploring music production and songwriting in the local music scene. Her melodies are highly pop-influenced, layered over ambient-electronic soundscapes with tinges of jazz and rnb. Known for her pure, velvety-smooth voice, she can be heard performing around the city with friends in the jazz community, or with her indie-pop band, SUGARFUNGUS.
Arrangement of the Session:
Vocals, Keyboard & Electronics - Tess Meckling
Vocals, Synth Bass & Drum Pad - Karl DeJong
About The Shelf Concert:
Inspired by NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert, we bring raw, stripped-down performances to Vancouver. No blasting speakers, no artificial mixing—just pure, direct sound. Artists self-mix in the moment, adjusting to the space and energy of the room. And since each concert is recorded live, the audience isn’t just watching—they’re part of the final cut. Every cheer, clap, and moment of silence is captured forever.
Your ticket includes:
✔️ Exclusive access to the Live Zone – The only place to fully experience the show in the venue.
✔️ A drink + a snack – Curated by HESTIA.
✔️ A role in the recording – Your energy, your reactions, your moment.
How It Works
• The concert is structured into multiple sets (3 minimum) of three songs, with short 10-minute breaks in between.
• Natural emotional reactions (clapping, cheering, vibing, etc.) are encouraged!
• During performances, we ask for minimal disruptive noise—think of it like being in a live recording session. And it is!
• Breaks are off the record—the perfect time to chat, grab another drink, or order more food.
• Artists may extend their set if the vibe is right. Show your love, and you might just get an encore!
Limited to 40 spots. Every session is unique. Get your ticket now—before someone else does.
