About the event

About Maya Jade:

Maya Jade is an emerging Jamaican-Canadian artist based in Vancouver, BC, bringing a smooth blend of R&B and pop shaped by a calming, sultry vocal style. Her music carries a quiet confidence — understated, expressive, and rooted in feeling.

She discovered her passion for music at a young age through classes, choir, and piano, eventually evolving into writing and recording her own songs alongside her brother, who produces much of her work. This foundation gives her sound a sense of intimacy and cohesion, where every element feels personal and intentional.

Drawing inspiration from artists like Sade, Cleo Sol, and Jorja Smith, Maya crafts songs that move with ease — soft grooves, warm tones, and vocals that settle gently into the room. As she continues to release new music, she is steadily establishing herself within Vancouver’s R&B scene, building a presence defined by subtlety, control, and emotional clarity.

For her Shelf session, Maya brings that same understated energy into a room built for listening — where the quietest moments often carry the most weight.

Arrangement of the Session:

About The Shelf Concert:

Inspired by NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert, we bring raw, stripped-down performances to Vancouver — but with our own after-hours twist. On Wednesday nights, Hestia closes its doors to the public and transforms into a private listening room for just 60 guests. No blasting speakers, no artificial mixing — just pure, direct sound. Artists self-mix in the moment, adjusting to the space and the energy of the room. And since each concert is recorded live, the audience isn’t just watching — they’re part of the final cut. Every cheer, clap, and moment of silence is captured by the microphones forever.

Your ticket includes:

✔️ Exclusive access to the session — An intimate, after-hours concert in the closed restaurant space at Hestia.

✔️ A late-night buffet — Curated by HESTIA to make the night feel even more special.

✔️ A role in the recording – Your energy, your reactions, your moment.

How It Works

  • The concert is structured into three short sets (three songs each), with two 5-minute breaks in between.

  • Natural emotional reactions (clapping, cheering, vibing, etc.) are encouraged!

  • During performances, we ask for minimal disruptive noise — think of it like being in a live recording session. Because it is!

  • Breaks are off the record — the perfect time to chat, enjoy the buffet, or grab another drink.

  • Some artists may extend their set or play an encore if the vibe feels right — show your love and you might just get more!

Limited to 60 spots. Every session is unique and will not appear again.
