About Ricardo:
Ricardo is an artist, composer, and producer based in Vancouver, BC. Born in Mozambique just a few years after the civil war, he immigrated to Canada with his mother at the age of five. From intimate Sofar Sounds shows to festival main stages, his concerts are more than just a performance—they’re an experience.
This Shelf session will feature a mix of Ricardo’s jazz-influenced gospel originals and his signature energetic acoustic pop songs—music that moves between soulful reflection and high-energy joy. He’ll also be sharing some brand-new originals, with several set to release on Spotify in the coming months.

Inspired by NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert, we bring raw, stripped-down performances to Vancouver. No blasting speakers, no artificial mixing—just pure, direct sound. Artists self-mix in the moment, adjusting to the space and energy of the room. And since each concert is recorded live, the audience isn’t just watching—they’re part of the final cut. Every cheer, clap, and moment of silence is captured forever.

How It Works
• The concert is structured into multiple sets (3 minimum) of three songs, with short 10-minute breaks in between.
• Natural emotional reactions (clapping, cheering, vibing, etc.) are encouraged!
• During performances, we ask for minimal disruptive noise—think of it like being in a live recording session. And it is!
• Breaks are off the record—the perfect time to chat, grab another drink, or order more food.
• Artists may extend their set if the vibe is right. Show your love, and you might just get an encore!
