About the event

About Riun Garner:

Riun Garner is a Vancouver-based singer-songwriter whose music sits at the crossroads of indie folk and indie rock, carried by intimate vocals and thoughtful, emotionally resonant songwriting. His songs often explore love, loss, and personal reflection, delivered with a quiet honesty that feels less like a performance and more like a cozy conversation unfolding in real time.

Drawing inspiration from early-2000s coffee shop rock and modern indie artists like Hovvdy, Soccer Mommy, and Alex G, Garner blends nostalgic indie textures with contemporary songwriting. His debut EP, All We Know and All We Forget, was recorded on an analog reel-to-reel tape machine, giving the songs a distinctive warmth. Tracks like “Wrote Myself Off” were later featured on Spotify’s “The Most Beautiful Songs in the World” playlist.

Following his 2023 full-length album Nice To Meet Ya, Garner continues to refine his sound through a series of new releases, including “Someone To You,” featured in Netflix’s My Life With The Walter Boys (Season 2). For his Shelf Concert session, he brings that same reflective energy into an intimate listening room, where every lyric, harmony, and moment of quiet carries a little more weight.

Arrangement of the Session:

Riun Garner — Vocals / Acoustic Guitar

Mark Falk — Electric Guitar

Cole Dine — Bass

Yato Noukoussi — Drums

About The Shelf Concert:

Inspired by NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert, we bring raw, stripped-down performances to Vancouver — but with our own after-hours twist. On Wednesday nights, Hestia closes its doors to the public and transforms into a private listening room for just 60 guests. No blasting speakers, no artificial mixing — just pure, direct sound. Artists self-mix in the moment, adjusting to the space and the energy of the room. And since each concert is recorded live, the audience isn’t just watching — they’re part of the final cut. Every cheer, clap, and moment of silence is captured by the microphones forever.

Your ticket includes:

✔️ Exclusive access to the session — An intimate, after-hours concert in the closed restaurant space at Hestia.

✔️ A late-night buffet — Curated by HESTIA to make the night feel even more special.

✔️ A role in the recording – Your energy, your reactions, your moment.

How It Works

  • The concert is structured into three short sets (three songs each), with two 5-minute breaks in between.

  • Natural emotional reactions (clapping, cheering, vibing, etc.) are encouraged!

  • During performances, we ask for minimal disruptive noise — think of it like being in a live recording session. Because it is!

  • Breaks are off the record — the perfect time to chat, enjoy the buffet, or grab another drink.

  • Some artists may extend their set or play an encore if the vibe feels right — show your love and you might just get more!

Limited to 60 spots. Every session is unique and will not appear again.
