About the event

ree

About Scotty Hills:

Scotty got his start in Saskatoon at age four singing radio jingles, came of age with the Nirvana grunge era, then got hit hard with an inspiration from post war Chicago Blues. For a decade he toured as a drummer/singer with various American blues bands, backing up blues royalty like Hubert Sumlin' and Jody Williams, both of which were pivotal figures in the early Chess Records dynasty.

He spend five years as drummer and vocalist with The Perpetrators, collecting a Juno award nomination and WCMA win for his role as co-writer and producer. The band opened for blues legends like Chuck Berry, Taj Mahal, Los Lobos and R.L. Burnside

and more.

He began releasing music for a solo project, coming from behind the kit to write and perform under his own name. In 2014 Scotty signed to Ole/RocNation and traveled to L.A., writing and creating demos for pop Icon Rihanna, collaborating with producers like Deputy (Rihanna), Jerrod Bettis (Adele, One Republic) and others. In 2022 he was shortlisted for a Polaris prize, for his songwriting on funk group Sargent and Comrade’s album “Magic Radio”.

Names like Sam Cooke, Ron Sexsmith, Stevie Wonder, or even Fiest may come to mind occasionally, but Scotty remains effortlessly original throughout” - CKUA Radio

About The Shelf Concert:

Inspired by NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert, we bring raw, stripped-down performances to Vancouver — but with our own after-hours twist. On Wednesday nights, Hestia closes its doors to the public and transforms into a private listening room for just 40 guests. No blasting speakers, no artificial mixing — just pure, direct sound. Artists self-mix in the moment, adjusting to the space and the energy of the room. And since each concert is recorded live, the audience isn’t just watching — they’re part of the final cut. Every cheer, clap, and moment of silence is captured forever.

Your ticket includes:

✔️ Exclusive access to the session — An intimate, after-hours concert in the closed restaurant space at Hestia.

✔️ A late-night buffet — Curated by HESTIA to make the night feel even more special.

✔️ A role in the recording – Your energy, your reactions, your moment.

How It Works

  • The concert is structured into three short sets (three songs each), with two 5-minute breaks in between.

  • Natural emotional reactions (clapping, cheering, vibing, etc.) are encouraged!

  • During performances, we ask for minimal disruptive noise — think of it like being in a live recording session. Because it is!

  • Breaks are off the record — the perfect time to chat, enjoy the buffet, or grab another drink.

  • Some artists may extend their set or play an encore if the vibe feels right — show your love and you might just get more!

Limited to 60 spots. Every session is unique and will not appear again.
