About Mei Anima:

Mei Anima is a Toronto-based indie pop and soul duo made up of childhood best friends Dino Hajdarovac and Cole Martin. Translating to "my soul," the name reflects the foundation of their music — something lived-in, honest, and deeply personal rather than manufactured.

Built on deep grooves, soulful vocals, and emotionally honest songwriting, Mei Anima's sound moves effortlessly between late-night introspection and full-room energy. Drawing from indie, soul, and modern pop influences, they create songs that feel both intimate and expansive, balancing heartfelt vulnerability with undeniable rhythmic pull.

Having spent years listening to records and making music together, their lifelong friendship is woven into every note they play. Their debut EP introduced listeners to songs like "Broken Heart" and "Elevator," establishing a sound rooted in authenticity, connection, and emotional truth.

For their Shelf session, Mei Anima brings a fully live band setup with no backing tracks or artificial textures — just real musicians creating every sound in the room. Expect rich grooves, soulful performances, and the kind of chemistry that can only come from a lifetime of making music together.

About The Shelf Concert:

Inspired by NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert, we bring raw, stripped-down performances to Vancouver — but with our own after-hours twist. On Wednesday nights, Hestia closes its doors to the public and transforms into a private listening room for just 60 guests. No blasting speakers, no artificial mixing — just pure, direct sound. Artists self-mix in the moment, adjusting to the space and the energy of the room. And since each concert is recorded live, the audience isn’t just watching — they’re part of the final cut. Every cheer, clap, and moment of silence is captured by the microphones forever.

Your ticket includes:

✔️ Exclusive access to the session — An intimate, after-hours concert in the closed restaurant space at Hestia.

How It Works

• The concert is structured into three short sets (three songs each), with two 5-minute breaks in between.

• Natural emotional reactions (clapping, cheering, vibing, etc.) are encouraged!

• During performances, we ask for minimal disruptive noise — think of it like being in a live recording session. Because it is!

• Breaks are off the record — the perfect time to chat, enjoy the buffet, or grab another drink.

• Some artists may extend their set or play an encore if the vibe feels right — show your love and you might just get more!
