About Little Garden:

Emily Steinwall is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist born and raised in Toronto, Canada. Steinwall’s roots in Toronto’s music scene run deep; her grandparents, parents and siblings all being active members of the local live music scene. This organically grew into a full-time career as a gigging musician, playing mostly saxophone and flute,  for local and touring acts.

Around 2019 Emily started to direct her energy more on singing, songwriting and band leading.This change in direction  allowed her to explore the unlimited potential of her creative vision and to write songs for her debut, self-released album, titled “Welcome to the Garden”. Once described as “A Disney Princess on Acid” , this initial offering from Steinwall blends psychedelic rock, theatrical vocals and extended saxophone solos. Steinwall’s sophomore album is currently in production and will be released later in 2025.  And for session#07 of The Shelf Concerts, she has assembled a band of local friends and family for a very special evening of music.

About The Shelf Concert:

Inspired by NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert, we bring raw, stripped-down performances to Vancouver. No blasting speakers, no artificial mixing—just pure, direct sound. Artists self-mix in the moment, adjusting to the space and energy of the room. And since each concert is recorded live, the audience isn’t just watching—they’re part of the final cut. Every cheer, clap, and moment of silence is captured forever.

How It Works

• The concert is structured into multiple sets (3 minimum) of three songs, with short 10-minute breaks in between.

• Natural emotional reactions (clapping, cheering, vibing, etc.) are encouraged!

• During performances, we ask for minimal disruptive noise—think of it like being in a live recording session. And it is!

• Breaks are off the record—the perfect time to chat, grab another drink, or order more food.

• Artists may extend their set if the vibe is right. Show your love, and you might just get an encore!
